The drive: what to expect
From the airport your driver climbs the Crown Range Road — the highest sealed road in New Zealand — past the Cardrona valley and down into Wanaka, a spectacular run of around one hour. In winter, or if you'd prefer the gentler grade, we can take the all-weather SH6 via Cromwell instead (a little longer at around 90 minutes).
The Crown Range can carry snow and ice from roughly June to September. Our drivers run it all winter with the right vehicles and chains — so you get the views without the white-knuckle drive. Your fixed fare doesn't change with the weather.
