Privacy Policy

Effective 19 February 2022 · Last reviewed January 2026 · Operated by Waggie Pty Ltd, trading as Airport Shuttle Services.

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website or book one of our airport, student, theme park, cruise or tour transfer services — how we use it, who we share it with, how we keep it secure, and the rights you have over it.

It is written to align with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), including reforms made by the Privacy Legislation Amendment (Enforcement and Other Measures) Act 2022 and the Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024.

1. Who we are

This website (airportshuttleservices.com.au) is owned and operated by Waggie Pty Ltd, trading as Airport Shuttle Services. We provide airport transfers, international student transfers, theme park transfers, cruise ship transfers, tours and charter services across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. For the purposes of the Privacy Act, we are an "APP entity" and treat personal information in accordance with the 13 Australian Privacy Principles. Our registered office is at 1366 Kingsford Smith Drive, Pinkenba QLD 4008.

2. What personal information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us. Typically it includes:

Booking & service information

Account & correspondence

Website & device information

We do not generally collect sensitive information as defined by the Privacy Act. Where we ever need to — for example an accessibility-related detail you choose to share for a safe transfer — we do so only with your express consent (APP 3.3) and only for the purpose you provided it.

3. How we collect it

We collect information directly from you when you submit a booking, quote request or contact form; phone, email or message us; book through a partner university, school or homestay provider; subscribe to our newsletter; or browse this website. We may also receive your information from a third party who books on your behalf, such as a university coordinator, homestay agency, cruise line, tour operator or corporate travel manager — and we rely on them to have obtained your consent.

4. Why we collect it

We use your information only where reasonably necessary for our business activities (APP 3): to confirm, deliver and manage your booking; communicate with you before, during and after your transfer including delays; process payments and issue receipts; track flights and adjust pickup times; provide GPS tracking links to authorised supervisors for under-18 student transfers; respond to enquiries and complaints; improve our website and service; send service updates and — only with consent — marketing; and meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations.

5. Cookies & tracking technologies

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device to remember preferences and understand how visitors use the site. We use strictly necessary cookies (session, security), analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4, aggregated and pseudonymised) and, where applicable, marketing cookies. You can refuse or delete cookies via your browser settings, or opt out of advertising cookies through tools such as Your Online Choices Australia (youronlinechoices.com.au). Disabling cookies won't stop you making a booking.

6. Who we share it with

We share information only where necessary to deliver our service or meet legal obligations — with drivers and operations staff, payment processors, cloud hosting and IT providers, email and SMS providers, analytics and advertising providers, university/school/homestay partners (only where you booked through them), insurers and professional advisers, and law enforcement or courts where legally required. We do not sell or rent your personal information for marketing purposes.

7. Overseas disclosures (APP 8)

Some providers — particularly cloud hosting, email, analytics and CRM platforms — store data on servers outside Australia, typically in the United States, the European Union or Singapore. By using our service you acknowledge your information may be transferred and stored overseas. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

8. How we keep your information secure (APP 11)

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access: encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), restricted internal access, secure cloud infrastructure, tokenised payment processing, and regular updates, reviews and staff training. We retain information only as long as needed to deliver our service, comply with the law or resolve disputes, then securely delete or de-identify it.

9. Data breach notifications

We comply with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme (Part IIIC of the Privacy Act). If we experience an eligible breach likely to result in serious harm that we cannot prevent, we will promptly investigate and contain it, notify affected individuals as soon as practicable, notify the OAIC, and provide recommendations to protect yourself.

10. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can access the information we hold (APP 12), request correction of inaccurate information (APP 13), withdraw consent to marketing at any time, lodge a complaint, and request anonymity or a pseudonym where lawful and practicable (APP 2). To exercise these rights, email bookings@airportshuttleservices.com.au with the subject line "Privacy request". We respond within 30 days, at no charge (a reasonable cost-recovery fee may apply for unusually large requests).

11. Information about under-18s

Our student and homestay transfers may involve passengers under 18. Bookings are typically made by a parent, guardian, university, school or homestay agency. All drivers transferring under-18 students hold a current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) as required by Queensland law, and we use their information only to deliver the transfer and communicate with their nominated supervisor. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian for permission before submitting information here.

12. Direct marketing (APP 7)

Where permitted by law we may send marketing about our services and offers, only with your consent or where you'd reasonably expect it. Every message includes an unsubscribe link (or "STOP" reply for SMS), and you can email us to opt out at any time.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal requirements. The current version is always at this URL, and material changes will be highlighted. Your continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms.

14. Contact us & complaints

Questions or complaints about how we've handled your information can be directed to our Privacy Officer:

We acknowledge complaints within 7 days and aim to respond substantively within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you may escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) — oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992, GPO Box 5288 Sydney NSW 2001.

This policy is effective from 19 February 2022 and was last reviewed in January 2026. It should be read in conjunction with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
