Bruny Island transfers

We'll get you to
the ferry on time.

Timing your Kettering connection

Bruny Island is accessed by the SeaLink ferry from Kettering — a 15-minute crossing that runs multiple times daily. The Kettering ferry terminal is approximately 45 km south of Hobart Airport, taking about 40 minutes to reach.

When you book a Bruny Island transfer with us, we work backwards from your preferred ferry time. Tell us which sailing you want to catch — or let us know your landing time and we'll recommend the best sailing — and we'll ensure you reach Kettering with time to spare.

We also offer return pickups from Kettering at the end of your Bruny Island visit. Return transfers can be pre-booked for any ferry time — just let us know when you book your outward journey.

What to expect on Bruny Island

Bruny Island is two islands connected by a narrow neck of land — North Bruny and South Bruny. The Bruny Island Food Trail is a highlight: Bruny Island Cheese Co, Get Shucked Oysters, House of Whisky, and Bruny Island Berry Farm are all on the trail.

The Neck is a narrow sand spit connecting the two islands — an easy 30-minute return walk with spectacular 360° ocean views. Cape Bruny Lighthouse (1838) is one of Tasmania's oldest.

We recommend booking at least one night on Bruny Island rather than a day trip — the island is best experienced slowly, especially at sunset from South Bruny.

SeaLink ferry runs multiple times daily. Call us on 0448 588 156 and we'll time your transfer to any sailing.

Terminal information

Hobart Airport
arrivals guide.

Single terminal — Cambridge

Hobart Airport has a single terminal at Cambridge, approximately 17 km east of the Hobart CBD. It is a compact, easy-to-navigate airport — arrivals exit directly into the main arrivals hall where your driver waits with a name board.

Hobart Airport handles both domestic and interstate flights. There are no scheduled international flights — international visitors to Tasmania typically fly via Melbourne or Sydney and connect. No road tolls apply on any route from the airport.

Tasmania observes Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) in summer and AEST in winter, same as Sydney and Melbourne. Worth noting when booking pickup times if you're connecting from interstate.

We also offer pre-booked return pickups from Kettering.
Yes. Huonville, Cygnet, Franklin, Geeveston, and surrounding Huon Valley towns from $99 (~45 minutes south). The Huon Valley is Tasmania's premier orchard and wine region — we service all wineries, accommodation, and farm stays in the area. Cellar door pickup and drop-off available.
Yes. Port Arthur Historic Site is approximately 100 km from the airport (~75 minutes via the Arthur Highway). From $119. We service Port Arthur, Eaglehawk Neck, Dunalley, Doo Town, and all Tasman Peninsula accommodation. The drive through the Tasman Peninsula is scenic and unhurried.
Yes. Coles Bay and Freycinet National Park are approximately 200 km northeast of the airport (~2.5 hours). From $199. We also service Swansea, Bicheno, and other East Coast accommodation. For Freycinet bookings, call us on 0448 588 156 to discuss timing and pickup.
Very limited. There is no train or tram service from Hobart Airport. Bus Route 485 and 486 connect the airport to Hobart's CBD interchange, but services are infrequent (roughly every hour), the journey takes about 35–40 minutes with stops, and carrying luggage on public transport is impractical for most visitors. A private transfer is by far the most convenient option.
