What began as a small Brisbane operation in 1979 now covers every major airport across Australia and New Zealand, with a fleet and partner network capable of moving two to two thousand passengers.

Our history

From Brisbane
to everywhere.

Airport Shuttle Services was founded as part of the Waggie Group in 1979, beginning with private vehicle hire and airport runs in and around Brisbane. In an era before apps or online booking, the business built its reputation the old-fashioned way — showing up on time, every time, and treating passengers the way you'd want to be treated after a long flight.

Over four decades the network expanded steadily. Queensland came first — Brisbane Domestic, International, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Cairns. Then interstate: Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide. Then across the Tasman: Auckland, Queenstown, Wellington, Christchurch.

The Waggie Group grew alongside the transfer business, adding coach charter, tour operations, and specialty services. Today the group encompasses ten partner businesses — from luxury sedans to 65-seat coaches — all coordinated under one booking system with one standard of service.

We're still based at 1366 Kingsford Smith Drive, Pinkenba QLD 4008 — minutes from the airport we started serving in 1979.

1979
Waggie Group founded in Brisbane. Private vehicle hire and airport transfers begin operating from Pinkenba, QLD.
1985
Fleet expansion to include vans and minibuses. Group bookings for corporate clients begin.
1992
Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast operations added. Byron Bay and Northern NSW routes established.
2001
Interstate expansion — Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide airports added to the network.

International arrivals get 90 minutes of complimentary wait time. Domestic gets 60 minutes. Flights get delayed — that's not your problem. Your driver monitors the actual landing time and adjusts automatically.
